Integrating Approach Between Psychoanalysis and Cognitive Therapy
Park Kyung-Soon

Abstract
This article attempts an approach which integrates psychoanalysis and cognitive therapy. Psychoanalysis has solidified its place not only as a theory to understand the unconscious, but also as a widely used therapeutic technique. Cognitive therapy has undergone remarkable progress since Beck¡¯s demonstration of cognitive therapy for depression. These therapeutic methods which emerged from two extreme ends are highly employed today. Various techniques from the psychoanalysis are exploited in cognitive therapy. The early childhood influences the cognitive schema. It also considers the relationship and the emotion between the therapist and the client. On the other hand, psychodynamic therapy comprehends the dynamics of the problem while creating and inducing a schema, such as one that is cognitively disharmonious with the realistic problem. This article discusses the historical reviews and the techniques for these theories, introduces the established integrated model, and demonstrates the case study of my research.
